VIVA British Student Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is a Business Forum with a Student Business Competition that will be held by Chinese Business Innovation Society with LSE Business and Investment Group during 2019/2020.

The conference will take place on the 15th March 2020, at IOE Bedford Way 20 W3.01.

There will be also a forum with 3 well-known Keynote Speakers and 4 angle and VC investors as our honorable judges. Also, 30+ professionals from all politics and industries will also be invited as well. This will be a great opportunity for students’ networking.


NOW OPEN FOR START-UP APPLICATIONS!!!


All college students and recent graduates are eligible to join in the competition, and there would be around 20 selected startup teams in the final round. There will be also a forum with around 6speakers with the competition. Also, 30+ professionals from all politics and industries will also be invited as well.

Application Criteria
In order to register yourself as a competition participant, you need to:
• Have an idea/venture
• Have an at-least basic business plan/businessmodel
• Your product must belong to one of the following areas:
1) AI /ML
2) Consumer Tech (Edtech, Fintech, Healthtech etc.)
3) Science Tech (Biotech, Chemtech, Advanced material etc.)
4) New Business Model

What is CBIS?

Chinese Business Innovation Society (CBIS) is an entrepreneurial community jointly built and promoted by students from University College London (UCL) who seek to change and innovate. CBIS gathers passionate, responsible young people, through seminars, panels company visit, business forums, other kinds of activities to realize the mutual connection between students and entrepreneurs and innovative cooperations. We build and enhance Chinese entrepreneurial atmosphere at UCL and other universities in London, while improving student’s understanding and capability to innovate. We also foster entrepreneurial projects that will have a positive effect to the social development.

Xingang Wang

Cllr Xingang Wang JP was educated at Imperial College London, Oxford University and Harvard Business School. He has 18 years of experience in consultancy and investment banking, and his former employers include JP Morgan, Barclays Capital and Scotiabank. Xingang was also a Director in SMBC Nikko before he set up his own consultancy firm focusing on investment and finance. He is leading property investment for selective private clients and advising post acquisition accounting practice for US banks acquiring German banks as part of the Brexit strategy. During his spare time, he mentors business school graduates, advises a top AI start-up and a cultural organisation. Xingang published a book on career advice, his M&A working paper was discussed at international academic conferences and he was awarded as a member of Top 100 People in Finance by an American magazine. Xingang has actively involved in his local community as well as local and national politics. He is currently a magistrate, a local councillor and he stood in UK General Elections three times. Xingang also served as a school governor, a charity trustee and in advisory roles across several industries and political organisations. 

Bo Ji
Bo Ji is the Founder of China Start and China CEO, an inspiring TEDx speaker, a Chinaprenuer, and a game changer in the global startup ecosystem. Bo is currently the Assistant Dean & Chief Representative for Europe at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), a top business school with more than 10,000 chairman/CEO level alumni in China. Bo had an over-20-year successful corporate career in Global Business Development, Innovation, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, M&A, etc. He served as the head quarters of many fortune 500 companies such as Monsanto, Cargill, Pfizer, Wrigley and Mars. After a long corporate life, Bo became a serial entrepreneur and investor.
